If you've been here a while, you've probably noticed I've been messing with things again, some cosmetic, and some very boring but critical back-of-house stuff.

Unfinished Business started last year as a place for my personal stories; all the things I'd experienced, learned from, messed up, and was still muddling through, but learning to laugh at with time.

Then I started writing about pretty much anything else. Movies, aging, relationships, pop culture, things that bug me (which are many), and yes, the more complex stuff when I have something worth saying about it.

For a while I've been worried that UB had lost its focus. But I've realized the issue wasn't what I was publishing, but that I was trying to make everything fit a specific niche I chose when I thought this site would be purely one thing.

Well, it's never been one thing, and I don't want it to be.

Between the readers here and a few thousand following elsewhere, clearly I’m not just talking to myself anymore. The site should probably reflect that.

So Unfinished Business is now Heather Papovich.

Using my own name allows me to write whatever I think is worth publishing without having to justify how it fits the premise I created a year ago.

The new link is heatherpapovich.com

The stories aren't going anywhere, and neither is anything else. I'm not starting over; I'm actually making room for more.

There are roughly 40-odd pieces on this site, plus others I've pulled over time. Some of them deserve another look, so occasionally I'll bring them back - updated, expanded, or otherwise rescued from where old internet writing goes to die.

And there will be new writing and plenty of free access. I have no desire to turn your inbox into a daily cry for attention.

For those of you who are Premium members, I'm making your membership better too.

If I'm asking you to pay $7 a month, 'here's another article, but with a paywall on it" isn't much of an offer.

Going forward, your Just Between Us membership (yep, changed the name on that too) includes a new members-only piece every month, a monthly letter with Q&A, access to the full private archive, and discounts on future collections and other things I release.

And there will still be occasional extras when I have something worth sharing.

I want membership to feel like you're actually getting something for being in it, not just permission to click past the paywall.

Other than that? Still nothing you have to do.

Keep sharing the things that feel interesting, and skip what doesn't. Tell me when you think I'm right. Tell me when you think I'm completely full of it.

I'm still going to write whatever I think is worth your time. Now I just don't have to try and make it all fit in the same little box.

God knows where this goes now, but it should make for one hell of a ride.

Thanks for coming along,

-Heather
